Doctor William F. "Bill" Beegle, 72 of Allenhurst, passed away peacefully on Sunday May 5th surrounded by his loving family. Bill was born in Neptune, NJ and raised in Interlaken, NJ before settling in Allenhurst where he lived for forty years. He graduated from Phillips Exeter Academy in New Hampshire followed by the University of Pennsylvania. From there he secured Masters in Biochemistry and Doctor of Optometry degrees from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
Bill had a distinguished career as an optometrist with his long-standing private practice Allied Vision. He most recently conducted a practice out of his office at LenCrafters in Eatontown before retiring in 2022. He took immense pride in providing eye care for thousands and received countless plaudits for his outstanding work and patient care.
Bill was a long-standing parishioner of St. Mary's of the Assumption Church in Deal where he taught Sunday school for many years. Central to his life was his family, of which he was a proud father of four. Bill was constantly trying new things such as riding a motorcycle and getting his pilot's license. Bill also enjoyed fishing, gardening, and relished spending time during the summer at the Allenhurst Beach Club.
Bill especially loved spending time with his four boys and taking them and their friends on fun adventures such as fishing, camping, arcades, and anything that involved a pool. The list of fun activities that Bill planned for his kids is too long to list. He also found great joy in traveling with his beloved wife and giving her a break from raising the kids by sending her on trips with her girlfriends or to the spa.
He is survived by his loving wife Jean of fifty-one years, his sister Nancy Starr and brother-in-law Tony of Little Torch Key, FL, son William Beegle Jr. and wife Kelly of Asbury Park, son Matthew Beegle and wife Adele of Interlaken, son David Beegle and wife Colleen including grandsons Michael and James of Oceanport, and son Daniel Beegle of Allenhurst, along with many other relatives who loved him deeply.
The family welcomes everyone for visitation at the Fiore-Buckley Funeral Home, 236 Monmouth Road in Oakhurst on Friday May 10 th from 3:00pm – 7:00pm. A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday May 11 th at St. Mary's of the Assumption Church Deal, NJ at 10:30am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Allenhurst Fire Department and First Aid Squad at www.allenhurstfire.org. For condolences, please visit fiorefuneralhomes.com.
