William Belcher Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Snyder Funeral Homes, DeVore Chapel on Jan. 3, 2026.
William Jeffrey "Jeff" Belcher, age 67, of Westerville, Ohio, passed away on December 30, 2025. He
was born on October 22, 1958, in Columbus, Ohio, and lived a life rooted in faith, family, and quiet
acts of kindness that left a lasting mark on everyone he met.
Jeff was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Phyllis A. Belcher, and his brother, Donny
Belcher. He is survived by his devoted wife, Vicki L. Belcher; his children, William Edward "Eddie"
(Megan) Belcher and Heidi Renae Belcher; and his cherished grandchildren, Adeline Belcher and
Elizabeth Belcher, who brought him immense joy. He is also survived by his father, William Henry
Belcher; his sister, Tami (Tim) Cox; his brother, Dan (Reba) Belcher; one niece; and multiple
nephews, all of whom he loved deeply.
Jeff was known for his legendary bear hugs-the kind that made you feel instantly safe, welcome,
and loved. He found peace in nature and happiness in simple pleasures: camping under open skies,
studying Civil War history, and most of all, spending time with his family. One of his greatest joys
was portraying Santa Claus for his local community, a role he embraced wholeheartedly as a way to
spread joy, laughter, and wonder to children and families alike.
A man of strong faith, Jeff was an active member and Deacon of Sunbury Christian Church, where
he served faithfully and lived out his beliefs through service to others. His life reflected humility,
generosity, and a steady devotion to God and family.
Jeff will be remembered not only for what he did, but for how he made people feel-seen, cared for,
and embraced. His legacy lives on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to receive one
of his bear hugs and know his gentle, giving spirit.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, at the Sunbury Christian Church,
870 Admiral Drive, Sunbury, Ohio 43074. Pastor Dave Cahoon will officiate, burial to follow in Trenton Cemetery.
Friends are invited to visit with the family on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and again on Wednesday,
the day of the service from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family would like for donations to be made to the National Kidney Foundation
or St Jude Children's Research Hospital.
The Snyder Funeral Homes, DeVore Chapel is honored to serve the Belcher family in their time of need.

I am SO sorry I missed coming to this service for my friend Jeff! I knew him to be such a good friend and devoted servant of Jesus Christ. He was always greeting those coming into Church. What a good man. I recall several years ago, when I was attending regularly, I missed a few weeks. My first week back, he waved to me from across the Church to come over to him. I did and he gave me a big hug and warm greeting. I will never forget that. He will be missed here on Earth, but he will be with Jesus!
