William "Billy" Parrott Bell, 67, passed Saturday January 24, 2026, at Prisma Health.

Born November 16, 1958, in Sumter, SC to the late James T. Bell and Ophelia Dickerson Bell.

He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Martha Copeland Bell, his former wife and close friend Jan Bell, his 2 daughters, Amanda Bell and Ashley Bell Cook (Brian) both of Sumter. His stepdaughters, Nikki Betush (Dustin) of Myrtle Beach and Samantha Betush (Eddie) of Pennsylvania; his 7 grandchildren, Alex Cook, Julianne Cook, Stella Betush, Vaughn Litzau, Robert Greenwald, Noah Greenwald, and Evelyn Brady. He is also survived by his siblings Katherine Boyd (David), James T. Bell Jr., Phillip Martin (Shannon). He was preceded in death by siblings, Debra Bell Prescott and Roy Bell.

Billy was loved by all who knew him. He had a deep love for all of his family and will be truly missed. He loved baseball, ice cream, and all his fur babies. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to someone in need and will be remembered for his kind heart. In his early years he played softball for Santee Print Works and coached numerous youth baseball teams. He retired from Santee Print Works after 30+ years of service and was a plumber by trade, carrying on his family legacy for many years.

Services will be held on Wednesday, February 4 with visitation starting at 4:00 and service starting at 5:00. The family invites you to join them after the services at the home of Amanda Bell at 890 Twin Lakes Dr.

Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and Crematorium of Sumter is in charge of the arrangements.
