William "Bill" Floyd Bennett, Sr, 89 of Knoxville, Arkansas, passed away Tuesday, March 10, 2026. He was born November 11, 1936 in Van Buren, to Leo and Norma Gooding Bennett. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Charles Bennett and wife Eve, Bob Bennett; sisters, Susi Green and sister-in-law, Lynda Bennett.
He was a devoted man of God whose life was defined by unwavering faith and deep conviction. An evangelist and gospel singer, he spent his years sharing the message he believed in so strongly, touching countless lives with both his words and his music. Above all, he was a loving father, grandfather (Poppy), and great-grandfather who created a warm, welcoming home where family, faith, and love were always at the center.
He started Bennett Properties which he and Sue were partners for numerous years. This was a ministry and mission field for Bill. He witnessed to all of his tenants. An example of this was, a tenant told them he was so very grateful to be able to afford a home, which would have been impossible without the Bennett's.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Sue Bennett; his children, William Floyd Bennett, Jr. (Beth), Bryan Bennett (Roxie), LouAnn Bennett (Pat Wasp); his bonus children, Dr. Michael Young (Deborah), Greg Young (Nancy); 12 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; brother, John Bennett, as well as numerous other family and friends.
His visitation will be 1-2pm, Friday, March 20, 2026 at Hedgeway Church in Lamar. The funeral will begin at 2pm, following the visitation, with Rev. Don Alexander officiating..
