William Blackburn, 70, passed away Monday, January 19, 2026. A memorial service will be held at a later date, under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Homes, Knox City, Texas.
Bill was born June 15, 1955 in Monrovia, California to Juanita (McMurtry) and William Blackburn, Sr. He married Gaylene Shaw in Covina, California on November 29, 1980. He liked to hunt, fish, and rebuild things. He could fix anything. He liked his dogs and chickens. He also liked spending time with his grandkids. He was a member of the Abundant Life Church in Knox City, Texas.
He is survived by his wife, Gaylene Blackburn of Knox City, Texas; daughter, Nina Blackburn of Knox City, Texas; three sons, William “Eddie” Blackburn, III of Knox City, Texas, Kyle Blackburn of Covina, California, and Nickolas Blackburn of Wichita Falls, Texas; 9 grandchildren; numerous friends and family.
He is preceded in death by his parents, William and Juanita Blackburn; and sister Sherry May Curd.
