William Victor Covington, Jr.
November 10, 1947 – November 29, 2024
William “Bill” Victor Covington, Jr. was born November 10, 1947 in Concord, North Carolina.
He died unexpectedly, entering heaven’s gates November 29, 2024.
He was preceded in death by his parents William and Ila Covington. He is survived by his sister, Margaret Covington Norvell and his nephew, Blake Covington Norvell.
He graduated cum laude from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte earning a degree in Economics.
His work career spanned many years including two employments. He enjoyed 13 years workingat Cannon Mills followed with 30 years employment at UNCC retiring on August 1, 2015.
Bill was well liked and became a lifetime friend to those he met and spent time with.He had a great sense of humor and an infectious laugh.
His celebration of life will be Saturday, February 22, at 2 pm at United Wesleyan Church at 2601 Rocky River Road, Charlotte, NC 28213 followed by a fellowship time to share stories about Bill.
