William Elliot "Bill" Grodevant, 73, of Tomahawk, WI passed away Friday, March 14, 2025 at the Wisconsin Veterans Home in Chippewa Falls.
Bill was born on June 26, 1951 in La Crosse, WI, the son of Daniel and Esther (Shawley) Grodevant.
He grew up exploring the bluffs and Mississippi River waterways of the La Crosse area, as well as the Milwaukee neighborhoods near Bay View.
Bill served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam and Berchtesgaden Recreation Center in Germany.
While working toward his degree in Physical Education at UW-La Crosse, he met the love of his life, Jeanne Doucette. They married on August 27, 1983.
Bill worked as a Painter/Interior Decorator, often with his father and brother. He began a career at Lincoln Hills School where he was a Youth Counselor, Recreation Leader and Teacher. Many now enjoy the star-filled night sky thanks to his instruction.
Following retirement, Bill became active in metal detecting and enjoying the Wausau Area Gold Prospectors Association of America. He readily shared knowledge on these topics.
