William "Bill" Meredith, a cherished resident of Charlestown, Indiana, passed away peacefully on December 22, 2025, at the age of 77. Bill was born on September 2, 1948, in Jeffersonville, Indiana, where he began a life that would be marked by a deep passion for technology, music, and family.
For over three decades, Bill dedicated himself to the information technology industry, finding success in his work with both Lucent Technologies and AT&T. His career was characterized by a commitment to excellence and innovation, traits that endeared him to colleagues and clients alike.
Outside of his professional life, Bill's personality shone through his many interests. He had a profound love for music, embraced the thrill of motorcycles, classic cars, and possessed a distinctive sense of style. However, nothing brought him more joy than spending time with his family. Bill adored his grandchildren—Dylan Hebner (Davor), Julia Lentz (Corgan), Emmerson Meredith (Kathleen), and Isaac Lentz—and treasured the moments spent with them.
Bill is survived by his loving wife, Debbie Meredith, and his daughters, Melissa Meredith and Tracy Lentz, (Russell), brothers, Jerry Meredith, (Barbara), Mike Meredith, (Debbie) and his fur babies, Duke and Monkey. He leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter, as well as countless memories that will be cherished by family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Gerald Meredith (Bettie), and his great grandson, Colsen Wampler, who was the beloved child of Julia Lentz and Corgan Wampler.
A visitation in honor of Bill will take place on Monday, January 5, 2026, starting at 11:00 AM, followed by a Life Celebration at 6:00 PM, at Grayson Funeral Home located at 893 High Street, Charlestown, Indiana.
Bill Meredith will be remembered for his unwavering spirit, love for his family, and the joy he brought to those around him. His presence will be deeply missed, but his memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
