William Edward Rasplicka, 93, died January 16, 2026, at the Manor House Care Center in Sigourney, Iowa He was born July 12, 1932, to John A. and Lillian (Kuncl) Rasplicka in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He graduated from Roosevelt High School in Cedar Rapids. He was employed at the First Trust Bank in Cedar Rapids. In 1952 Bill enlisted in the United Stated Air Force and was an engine mechanic and he was discharged in June of 1956. He received the National Defense Service Medal and a Good Conduct Medal. On July 14, 1957, he married Mary Ferne Dyson at the English Valley Church of the Brethren and made their home in Cedar Rapids. In 1966 they moved to Marshalltown where Bill worked with his brother John in a wholesale greenhouse operation. The family moved to Sigourney in 1976 and opened the Sigourney Greenhouse Flower Shop, which they ran for 30 years. Bill had a green thumb, he enjoyed eating sweets, staying home and spending time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Mary on December 14, 2024, son Jeff Rasplicka, and grandson Joshua Rasplicka, brother John Rasplicka, two sisters Mary Ann Reeder and Dorothy Fritz.

He is survived by his sons Greg (Paula) Rasplicka, Tim (Janet) Rasplicka of Warrenville, Illinois, five grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, niece Kathy (Ed) Pogue and nephew John (Amy) Fritz.

Funeral Service: Monday January 19, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at Holm Funeral Home in Sigourney.
Visitation One Hour before service.
Burial: English River Brethren Cemetery - South English.
