William “Billy” David Hamberg, 44, of Duluth, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, August 10, 2024.
Billy spent his early years in Vergas, MN, before moving to Pelican Rapids, MN, at the age of 7. He attended school in Pelican Rapids, graduating with the class of 1999. At 18 years of age, Billy joined the National Guard and served for 6 years. He worked for Gateway Chevrolet, Sprint in Fargo, and later as a teller at Wells Fargo in Pelican Rapids for many years.
Billy had a deep love for art and enjoyed hunting, snowmobiling, motorcycling, fishing, going to the races, and many other things. He loved to make people laugh, and his laugh was contagious. His greatest joys in life were his kids, family, and friends.
Billy is survived by his children: Landon Martinson and Annabelle Hamberg. He also leaves behind his parents, Brenda (Tom) Stout; and his siblings: Sara Hamberg, Riley Stout, and Chantel (Derek) Cossette. He is further survived by his nieces and nephew: BraeLynn, Kallie, Blake, and Kora, as well as extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, William Hamberg, and his grandparents.
Billy will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
The family has requested in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Bell Bank - Tom Stout, to go towards Billy's children and to cover funeral expenses.
Road construction instructions: Main Street is closed in front of the funeral home. To get to the funeral home please take 2nd Avenue NW across main street then turn left onto 1st Street NE up to 5th Avenue NE then turn left, and the funeral home is on the left.
A gathering is scheduled for Friday, September 6, 2024, from 1-2 p.m. with memorial service at 2 p.m. at Larson Funeral and Cremation Service in Pelican Rapids, MN with Pastor Alex Ohman officiating. The family is asking you to join them in the back room of the VFW in Pelican Rapids, MN at 4:30 p.m. to share memories and honor Billy.
