William "Billy" James Holton II, age 77 of Manassas, passed away on Thursday, November 13, 2025 at Camilla Nursing Home in Claxton under the care of Affinis Hospice. A lifelong resident of Tattnall County, he was born on June 2, 1948 in Tattnall County to Harold V. and Sybil Jenkins Holton. He was a 1967 graduate of Collins High School. After graduating, he enrolled at Swainsboro Technical College and soon thereafter was drafted into the Army. He served two tours in Vietnam earning the rank of Specialist E4 and was awarded the Army Medal of Commendation for his bravery on February 23, 1969. After his honorable discharge, he returned home to his family farm where he enjoyed his family, cousins, his life-long friends, neighbors and spent his life dedicated to his love of farming. He was awarded the Conservationist Farmer of the Year in 2014. He is preceded in death by his parents, brother-in-law, Douglas Geiger and uncle, Byron Glisson.
He is survived by his two sisters, Linda H. Geiger and Susan H. Campbell (Mike); his aunt, Belinda Glisson; his nephews, Jared Campbell, David Campbell (Vanessa), Lee Campbell, Holton Geiger (Maria); his niece, Kristin Setzer (Phillip) and six great nieces and nephews, Seth Campbell, Joel Campbell, Abigail C Johnson, Lydia C Kinnick, William Setzer and Sara Setzer.
Graveside services will be conducted at 2:00pm, Sunday, November 23, 2025 at Anderson Cemetery for his family and friends.
