William “Billy” Herman Norman, of New London, NC passed away peacefully on Monday, August 5, 2024.
Billy was born in Guilford County to the late William Austin Norman and the late Burtrice “Louise” Lambeth.
Billy loved being on the lake. He enjoyed going to the beach, coastal fishing and camping. He loved to watch his grandson build piers. He was owner/operator of B & T Loader Services.
Billy is survived by his daughter: Tina Woody (Sean Powell) of New London; son: William “Tommy” Thomas Norman (Cathy) of New London; grandchildren: Aaron (Audrey) Norman, Dylan (Evelyn) Woody, Abby Woody (TJ); great grandchildren: Payton Norman, Waylon Norman; (adopted) daughter: Pam Morgan; brother: Roger Norman (Betty) of New London; and sister: Shelia Adams (Steve) of New Hope. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Brenda Norman; siblings: James Norman, Bobby Norman, Ronnie Norman, Douglas Norman and Valerie Norman.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 7, 2024, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Pugh Troy Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St., Troy, NC. The Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, August 8, 2024, at 2:00 PM, at Center Methodist Church, 186 Center Methodist Church Rd., Troy, NC. The burial will follow in the church cemetery with Rev. Darreld Smith officiating.
Memorial donations may be made to Tillery Compassionate Care (formerly Hospice of Stanly Co.), 960 N. First St., Albemarle, NC 28001.
