Bud was a devoted family man who cherished spending time outdoors, especially bird watching. His love for nature was only matched by his deep affection for his family and friends, who remember him as a kind and gentle soul.
Bud is survived by his wife, Rebecca (Becky) Blackwell; daughter, Tiffany Evans of Rock Hill, SC; son, Scott Blackwell of Charleston, SC. He adored his grandchildren, Margaret (Meg) Smith and husband Mark, Will Evans and wife Ashley, Rebecca Wilson and husband Chandler, Rori Baucom all of Rock Hill, SC, Liam Blackwell and Bridget Blackwell of Hendersonville, NC. He is also survived by his brother, Don Blackwell and wife Maudie; sisters, Sandra Woodridge and husband Russ, and Becky Green all of Greenville, SC; his canine companion, Scruffy.
He was predeceased by his beloved son, Charles Ryan Blackwell. Bud often felt Ryan's presence from visiting cardinals.
A family celebration of Bud's life will be in Rock Hill, SC later this year.
