William D. Bohan, born on August 24, 1937, peacefully passed away on December 1, 2024. He was a remarkable individual whose life was marked by deep-rooted passions and loved his family and country.
A proud Irish American, Bill had an enduring love for history, which informed his many conversations and brought joy to those around him. He was diverse; he enjoyed the thrill of racehorses and he never left his childhood pleasure in listening to "The Big Red Machine" the Cincinnati Reds on the radio. At the age of 10, Bill started selling newspapers which developed his love of reading and sharing stories about history and current affairs.
Bill served in the Army, and was a lifelong Patriot. His commitment to service and country was a source of pride, reflecting the values that he instilled in those he loved. After serving his country Bill retired from Western Southern Life Insurance and Cincinnati Financial.
He is survived by his children, Ana Maria (Adonis) Caneris, Yvonne Bohan, and Patrick Bohan. He cherished his role as a grandfather to Athena, Adonis, and Andre Caneris and Marisa, Mickey, and Marcus Bohan, and also survived by his companion, Kathleen Rothenbach and her children Kathy and Joe and their families.
Bill is predeceased by his siblings, James (Minnie) Bohan and Mary Ellen Bohan, who were an integral part of his life. He would love sharing stories of their childhood of growing up on "The Hill" of Mt. Adams.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during the visitation on December 13, 2024, from 8:00 AM to 9:30 AM at Vitt, Stermer & Anderson Funeral Home 4619 Delhi Rd.
