William Boos Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Baldwin Brothers Funerals & Cremation Society - Venice on Oct. 17, 2025.

Publish in a newspaper

William R. Boos, of Nokomis, Florida, formerly of Wausau and Milwaukee, Wisconsin, went
home to The Lord on October 9, 2025.

Born in Milwaukee, WI on September 11, 1942, to Karl and Rose Boos, Bill lived a full and
faith-filled life dedicated to family, service, and community.

Bill was the loving husband of Sandra (Sandy) Boos for 64 years, and the proud father of
three children: Todd (Susan) Boos of Grafton, WI; Michele (Patrick) Nettesheim of Germany;
and Denise (Perry) Snoeyenbos of Wausau, WI. He was the cherished grandfather of Lauren
(Mike), Nicholas (Claire), Sydney, Sarah, Sophie, and Olivia, and the adoring greatgrandfather of Dakota.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Karl; and his sister, Paula. He is survived
by his sister, Charlotte (Fred); sister-in-law, Rosalie; brother-in-law, Tom; as well as nieces,
nephews and their families.

Bill led a strong Christian life and was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He
lived in the Milwaukee area where he worked at Ladish Co. while putting himself through
college and raising a young family. In 1981, Bill and his family moved to Wausau, where he
worked at Marathon Electric as Vice President of Systems and later for Regal Beloit as CIO
until his retirement.

Following retirement, Bill and Sandy moved to Florida, where they continued to live life to
the fullest. Bill was deeply involved in his faith communities throughout his life-serving as
elder, usher, and volunteer at the churches he attended. His dedication extended beyond the
church, helping launch the Center for the Visual Arts in Wausau in 1985, volunteering with
Junior Achievement, and serving on the boards of Northland Lutheran High School and
Birch Trails Girls Scouts.

Bill loved the outdoors-especially fishing and boating-and he shared that passion
through the Sarasota Power & Sail Squadron, where he served as Commander and taught
boater safety courses well into his 80s. His expertise allowed Bill and Sandy to enjoy many
trips with his boat. In addition, Bill was proud to earn his captain's license from the Coast
Guard. He was also an avid reader, enjoyed a good cigar, and was always the best one on the
dance floor. Known for his warm hugs, quick smile, and generous spirit, Bill lived his faith
daily and was truly a disciple until the end. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him as
he touched countless lives with his kindness, humor, compassion, wisdom, and unwavering
faith.

There will be a celebration of life at Lakeside Lutheran Church, Venice 2401 S. Tamiami
Trail on November 1st at 11:30am.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to the hospice caregivers at Tidwell Hospice for their
loving and gentle care.

Sandy and Family,

We extend to you, our deepest sympathies for Bill´s passing. Bill was a dear friend, coworker and "brother". We have been dearest friends for over 44 years. We worked, golfed, enjoyed the hot tub, watched Packer games, vacationed and ate dinners together. Even our grandkids grew up together. We have included some of the photos of Bill´s life as we shared them at his retirement party from Marathon Electric. Bill loved his corvettes, but they were always a red flag for traffic cops. Bill deeply loved Sandy, his family, his friends & his dogs and gave all he had for us. But most of all, Bill loved and served Jesus and is now with him in heaven. We will all miss him dearly.

With Deepest Sympathy
