Lexington, South Carolina, Bruce Bowman, Jr., 56, passed away on September 23, 2023 with his loved ones by his side.
Bruce was born in Sylva, NC to William Bruce Bowman, Sr. and Jane Rector Bowman. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy (DeeDee) Bowman, daughter, Breanne Mefford (Jonathan) and his son, Mitchell Bowman. He is also survived by his parents.
He grew up in Waynesville, NC and graduated from Tuscola High School. He continued his education and obtained his degree in Mechanical Engineering from UNC Charlotte.
Bruce was a leader and highly respected in his industry. He worked for Kidde Fire Systems as the East Coast Sales Director, and he loved his job. He worked until his last days because he didn’t want to let anyone down. Anyone who knew Bruce, knows he loved his Chardonnay, Elvis, his ‘69 convertible Corvette Stingray, pontoon boat, and the dune buggy! He also loved being able to go to the beach and relax at Tybee Island and watching the Georgia Bulldogs. He was fun to be around, and such a smart, intelligent person who has definitely made his mark in this world. He loved doing crosswords, watching Jeopardy, listening to old music, reading books, and always expanding his mind. But he also just loved being sociable and being around those he loved.
Bruce always took care of his family and friends. He was a loving father, wonderful son, thoughtful son-in-law, and the best husband ever. He will be sincerely missed more than words can say.
A funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 27, 2023 at Allens Creek Baptist Church with the Reverend Eddie Dietz and Reverend Patrick Womack officiating. Burial will be Friday, September 29, 2023 at Bonaventure Cemetery, Savannah, GA. The family will receive friends following the funeral service.
