In Loving Memory of William Charles Brant

October 1, 1940 – August 17, 2025

William "Bill" Charles Brant of Kingwood, Texas, passed away peacefully on August 17, 2025, at the age of 84. He was born on October 1, 1940, in Brothers Valley Township, Pennsylvania, to Roy and Melda Brant.

Bill was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 61 years, Patricia Ann (Cook) Brant; his sister, Blanche (Irwin); and his brothers, Roy and Larry. He is lovingly remembered by his brother John; his children, Andrew, Christopher, and Heidi; and his grandchildren, Alexander, Annalina, William, Brianna, Christine, and Molly.

A 1958 graduate of Meyersdale High School, Bill went on to earn a bachelor's degree in chemistry from California University of Pennsylvania in 1962. That same year, he married Pat, beginning a lifelong partnership filled with love, adventure, and service. Bill began his career at Gulf Oil Corporation in Harmarville, PA, and relocated with his family to Kingwood, TX, when Chevron acquired Gulf in 1985. He retired from Chevron in 2000 after a long and rewarding career.

In retirement, Bill and Pat shared a passion for travel, exploring more than 40 countries together. India and the Czech Republic were among his favorite destinations. Bill was also an avid tennis player and enjoyed mentoring young athletes, often giving free lessons. A man of service, he dedicated time to Boy Scouting in Springdale, PA, and to a variety of ministries at Holy Comforter Lutheran Church in Kingwood. He also volunteered with local thrift shops that supported charities, including women's shelters and animal rescues.

Bill had a lifelong love of antiques and collectibles. Friends affectionately called him an "opportunistic accumulator," a description he embraced with pride.

In July 2024, Bill was diagnosed with Stage 4 liver cancer. He faced his illness with courage and determination, fighting valiantly until his passing. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 28, 2025, at 1:30 p.m. at Holy Comforter Lutheran Church in Kingwood, TX. A joint memorial service for Bill and Pat will take place at a later date in Meyersdale, PA, followed by the interment of their ashes.

In lieu of flowers, his family making a donation in Bill's name to the Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation or Holy Comforter Lutheran Church.
