William "Bill" T. Brehmer, 87, of Farmington Hills, MI passed peacefully on May 10, 2024.
Bill was born on August 26, 1936, in Detroit, MI to Roland and Marie (Beleau) Brehmer. He was a proud graduate of Cass Tech High School. Bill had an innate talent for technology and had a long and distinguished career as a Field Engineer at IBM, retiring in 1991. Bill also met Patricia, his wife of 40 years, while working at IBM. Bill loved motorcycles and camping and particularly enjoyed sharing those hobbies with his sons, Bill and Jim. Bill also shared a love of scouting with his sons and served as a Scout Leader for many years. He had a lifelong interest in technology and computers, was an avid HAM radio enthusiast, a certified scuba diver and a talented woodworker.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Roland and Marie Brehmer, and his son, James Brehmer. He is survived by his wife, Patricia Brehmer; his children, Wendy (Matt) McDonnell, and William (Teresa) Brehmer Jr; step children Thomas (Marisa) Goodwin, Roberth (Marcia) Goodwin, James (Suzanne) Goodwin, Sharon (Jerry) Menard, and Deborah (Carl) Struble; grandchildren James Goodwin, Linda Foster, Brian Goodwin, Sean Goodwin, John Goodwin, Mishell Nutter, Derryck Menard, Kayla Hull, Alex Struble, Corey Menard, Mitchell Struble, Cody Goodwin, Dylan Menard, Patrick Goodwin, and Tallon Brehmer; great grandchildren Joshua Goodwin, Victoria Goodwin, Allison Foster, Andrew Foster, Ryleigh Harless, Greyson Sawmiller, Savannah Menard, Ellie Goodwin, and Charlotte Menard; his brother Ralph (Lily) Brehmer; and niece Elizabeth Watts.
The family is making plans for a memorial gathering to be held later this summer.
