William R. "Bill" Bremser passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 8, 2024, at Froedtert West Bend Hospital. He was 73 years old.
Born on August 30, 1950, in West Bend, Bill was the cherished son of the late Lloyd and Dorothea (nee Brodzeller) Bremser. On September 5, 1971, he embarked on a lifelong journey of love and companionship with his devoted wife, Carol Degner, at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in West Bend.
Bill dedicated himself to a career in the grocery retail industry, beginning as a skilled meat cutter at Red Owl in West Bend. Through hard work, he advanced to the role of meat merchandiser for Roundy's, traveling throughout Wisconsin.
Beyond his professional pursuits, Bill was an avid reader, he eagerly consumed the daily newspaper, staying informed on current events and world affairs. Traveling held a special place in his heart, and he cherished every moment exploring new destinations alongside his beloved wife and family, with memorable adventures in Hawaii, the Caribbean, and Alaska. Bill also had a soft spot in his heart for family pets and a weakness for Mounds Candy Bars.
Bill will forever be remembered with love and admiration by his loyal wife of 52 years, Carol; his two children, Becky Bremser and her partner Alex Size of Oakland, California, and Matt Bremser and his wife Erin of Sheboygan; his grandchildren, Liam and Chloe Bremser; his brother-in-law, David Degner, and his wife Luci of West Bend; nieces, Beth Degner and her husband Dan Schulz of Boulder, Colorado, and Jenna Clifford and her husband Danny of Cedarburg; and great-nephew and niece, Nico and Austen Clifford, along with numerous other relatives and friends.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Bill's life at a gathering on Friday, February 23, 2024, from 3:30 p.m. until 5:15 p.m. at Myrhum – Patten Funeral & Cremation Service, 1315 W. Washington Street, in West Bend. A funeral service will follow at 5:30 p.m. Burial, attended by immediate family, will take place on Saturday, February 24th, at 10:00 a.m. at Washington County Memorial Park in West Bend.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial contributions be made to the Washington County Humane Society, a cause that was dear to Bill.
