We honor the life of William "Bill" Brest, a devoted family man, hardworking business owner, and beloved community figure who passed peacefully at his home in Greenville, PA on November 3.
Bill was born January 9, 1939, the son of the late Robert and Eleanor Brest.
He was a 1957 graduate of Penn High School.
Known not only for his strong work ethic and unwavering commitment to his family, he also earned a local legacy as the best fish cook in Greenville – a title he wore with pride.
Through his journey of 86 years, he built his life on honesty, perseverance, and caring for those he loved. He leaves behind a family who adored him, a community who respected him and stories that will never be forgotten. His dedication, humor and love will live on in every memory shared and every fish fry held in his honor.
He is survived by his high school sweetheart and wife of 67 years, Rose Smith Brest, his sons Brian and Todd (Marcy Edwards), his 5 grandchildren Kayla Duarte, Sarah Gartin, Gabrielle Brest, Jordan Brest and Emma Brest and his 3 great-grandchildren Amelia Duarte, Benicio Duarte and Cami Gartin. He is also survived by his siblings Robert E. Brest (Gertrude), Gail Carey (John) and Rodney Brest.
He is preceded in death by his son Mark and by his sister-in-law, Beverly, Rodney's wife.
No services will be held. There will be a celebration of life held at a later date.
