Rev. William Brightharp Obituary
With heartfelt sorrow, we share the news of the passing of Rev. William "Delmond" Brightharp, who departed this life at his home on June 21, 2024.
Born to the late Elbert and Virginia Brightharp on October 5, 1935, Rev. Brightharp was introduced to faith at Old Macedonia Baptist church where he was baptized as a young boy. He was an alumnus of Bettis Academy High School and later became a respected entrepreneur, establishing a Taxi and Courier Service.
Rev. Brightharp's life was enriched by his family, including his beloved wife Joan Smith Brightharp, whom he wed on February 14, 1960. His legacy of love and dedication lives on through his wife, Joan; daughter, Dr. Carolyn (Jim Ridgill) Brightharp; sons, William Brightharp and Kendall (Jaime) Brightharp; seven grandchildren, Keanu, Kanye, Alexis, William III, Braeden, Justin and Kendall; thirteen great-grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Iris (Herman) Wofford.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles Brightharp, Jr., and Moses Brightharp.
The celebration of Rev Brightharp's life will take place at 12 pm Wednesday, June 26, 2024 at Old Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church where the Rev. Dr. Leonard O. Griffin pastor and the Reverend Barbara B. Wills officiating. His final resting place will be in the church cemetery.
Rev. Brightharp's memory will be cherished as a testament to his unwavering love and devotion to his family and community.

When i first meet Mr. Brightharp. He answered me in a slick way. But is was funny. He always had a funny comment for me. This family was wonderful.
