William H. "Bill" Buchner Sr., 82, of Harrisville passed away Saturday, October 11, 2025.
Born May 30, 1943, to Alfred and Mary (Apsey) Buchner in Harrisville, he has been a lifelong resident of the area. A 1961 graduate of Alcona High School, Bill was named "Athlete of the Year" for his feats on the baseball and football teams. He attended Michigan State University’s Agricultural Short Course. Bill was well known for his legendary dairy farm, "Buchner Farms". He was a leader in the industry, sharing his expertise on all things cows, crops, and dairy farming. He was an avid supporter of youth agricultural education, the local FFA organization, and hosting field trips to the farm.
Bill enjoyed hunting, especially on his Canadian property in Lake of the Woods, Ontario, where he built a home to stay during his adventures away from the farm. His hobbies included tree farming, helping the community with his lawn mowing skills, hunting the elusive big buck and coyote chases with his pack of elite hounds.
He is survived by four children, Dr. William H. Buchner Jr., Jennifer L. Buchner, Bruce E. Buchner (Emily White), and Benjamin J. (Lauren) Buchner, his granddaughter, Nora Gale Buchner, his brother, Alfred "Bud" (Sharon) Buchner Sr., his sister-in-law, Pauline Buchner, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by three sisters, Margie (Elmer) Meden, Evelyn (Ed) Wall, and Beverly (Syd) Cook, and two brothers, Robert Buchner and Carl Buchner.
Visitation will be Saturday, October 18, 2025, from 11:00 AM until the funeral service at 1:00 PM at Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church in Lincoln. Rev. Donald Seelhoff will officiate. Burial will be in Twin Lakes Cemetery.
