William Bush Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Waters & Hibbert Funeral Home, LLC - Pensacola on Dec. 26, 2025.
William Allen Bush Jr., known to family and friends as Bill, was born on December 15, 1949, in Augusta, Georgia. He passed away on December 23, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, William Bush Sr. and Christine Bush. He is survived by his beloved wife, Jeanne Bush; his children, Brian (Lisa) Gardner and Sean (Patricia) Gardner; grandchildren Molly (Tater), Finn, Abigail, and Claire; his loyal golden retriever, Harley; his brother, Ricky Bush; and two nieces, Angie and Kristy.
A proud veteran, Bill served in the United States Air Force as a C130 crew chief during the Vietnam era, a chapter that shaped his character and remained a source of pride throughout his life. He forged lifelong bonds with his fellow crew members, Vytau Virskus and Ed Weeks, whose friendship he cherished deeply. After his service, Bill settled in Pensacola, Florida, where he built a life rich in family and friendship. His closest local friends, Jon Molloy and Bruce Felder, were constant companions in his journey, sharing laughter, mischief, and a commitment to giving back to the community through their involvement with Sertoma. Bill dedicated many years to his career as a jeweler at Elebash's Jewelers, earning the respect and admiration of his colleagues, customers, and the wider community.
He cherished life's simple pleasures, playing golf, traveling with Jeanne (especially to St. Martin), and relaxing and tinkering in his backyard oasis with a Coors in hand. Bill was admired for his frugality, his honorable character, and the deep, unwavering love he held for his wife, family, and friends.
Bill's legacy is one of integrity, simplicity and a deep devotion to those he loved. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
