Byrd leaves to cherish his precious memories of his wife- Joyce Byrd of the home; three daughters- Tia Byrd (Nick), LaTasha Baker (Chris), and Shoinette Council (Clifton); three sons- Maurice Mattews (Tanya), Milton Mattews, and Johnny Mattews; mother-in-law- Missie Lee Harrington; two sisters- Gloria Devone and Sylvia Ann Mclean; three brothers- James B McCrae, Calvin Smith, and Andre Ray; three uncles- Charles McCrae (Hattie), Claude Surles, and Nelson Woodley; two aunts- Ann McNeill and Shelia Douglas; 20 grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; two godsons- Tommy McNeill and Isaac McLean; and a host of nieces, nephew, other relatives and friends.
Public viewing will be held at Cape Fear A Conference, Erwin, Saturday, August 30, 2025, from 2PM- 2:55PM.
Funeral Service will follow @ 3PM, following the guidelines of the facility for entrance and capacity.
Interment will follow in Resthaven Cemetery, Dunn.
