William "Sonny" Jason Cain, of Berryville, Arkansas passed away Wednesday, January 24, 2024, at the age of 81. Sonny was born on October 5, 1942, in Berryville, Arkansas to William Burr Cain and Roxie Eugenia (Miller) Cain.
Sonny was a member of the Berryville Alumni Association, receiving the Berryville Alumnus of the Year award in 2010, a member of Cove Church in Berryville, where he was the church treasurer for many years, and a cast member of The Great Passion Play since 1984, where he played several roles from a street extra to a High Priest. Sonny was an avid Bobcat fan, filming many football and basketball games. He graduated from the University of Arkansas with a bachelor's degree in marketing and has always been a Razorback fan. He served his country with the Air Force during Vietnam. Sonny loved and supported his family and passionately loved his grandchildren.
On October 30, 1965, he married Betty Lou (Morrison) Cain, who survives him of the home. He is also survived by his children Rebecca Lynn Usrey of Berryville, Arkansas, Retired Colonel William J. Cain Jr. of Chesapeake, Virginia, and Mary Beth Sink of Bentonville, Arkansas, eight grandchildren Charles Merchant, Elise Holman, Eric Holman, Emily Sink, Hayden Sink, Jenna Cain, Brodie Cain, and Creed Cain, one great granddaughter Bella Mae Holman, as well as other family and friends who will miss him greatly.
He is preceded in death by his parents William and Roxie Cain, three sisters Marie Jones, Betty Doris Collins, and Dorothy Jo Cain, and one brother Billy Gene Cain.
Graveside service will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, January 29, 2024, at the Berryville Memorial Park Cemetery with Rev. David Maybee, Rev. Danial Morrison, and Col. William J. Cain Jr. officiating. Memorial donations may be made to:
- The Cove Church, 509 E. Madison Ave, Berryville, AR 72616;
-The Berryville Memorial Park Cemetery, PO Box 227, Berryville, AR 72616; or
-The Carroll County Heritage Center, 403 Public Square, Berryville, AR 72616.
