Alan McCalister Obituary

Published by Legacy from Jun. 4 to Jun. 6, 2025.
Alan Roy McCalister was born on March 8, 1956, and went to meet the lord at the age of 69. He was the third child of Albert Donel McCalister and Dorothy (Scarrow) McCalister. He was joined in marriage to Lori Sue (Posey) McCalister on September 8, 1980, in Columbus, Mississippi.
Alan proudly served his country in the United States Air Force from 1979 to 1999, retiring after 20 years of honorable service at Whiteman Air Force Base in Knob Noster, Missouri. After his retirement, he and Lori made their home in Windsor, Missouri.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy (Scarrow) Moore; his father, Albert Donel McCalister; a brother, Michael McCalister; and two of his beloved daughters, Chrystal Renee McCalister and Brandi Leigh McCalister. He is survived by his loving wife, Lori McCalister; his children, David Posey of Florida, Christopher McCalister of Missouri and Lisa Williams of Arkansas; a sister, Patricia Taylor and a brother, Earl McCalister, both of Eureka Springs, Arkansas; 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren, several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Alan was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, son and brother. He loved spending time outdoors, especially hunting, fishing and camping. He also enjoyed bowling, playing pool and watching his favorite western, Lonesome Dove, but found his greatest joy in making memories with his family. Alan's strength, humor and love for his family will be remembered always.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 10, 2025, at the Rock Springs Baptist Church, Eureka Springs, Arkansas. Burial will be at the Rock Springs Cemetery, Eureka Springs. Online condolences may be sent to nelsonfuneral.com © Nelson Funeral Service, Inc. 2025.
