Calhoun, William "Bill" age 84 of Gowen, MI died Wednesday, July 28, 2021 at his home. Bill was born March 3, 1937 in Grand Rapids, MI the son of George and Irene (Lott) Calhoun. Bill was a hard worker, very dedicated to all his business endeavors. When he was not working he enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, bowling, working around his home and spending time with friends and family. In later years one of his favorite activities was frequent trips to the casino. Surviving are his first wife of 28 years Darlene Baker; children, Bob (Tracy) Calhoun, Larry (Shawn) Calhoun, Sherry Westra, Karen (Mike) Hoogerhyde, Barb (Don) Bowen; stepchildren, Randy Bowron, Rich Bowron; 24 grandchildren; 51 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; siblings, Robert Calhoun, Bonnie (Skip) Rogers. He was preceded by his second wife of 35 years, Joyce Calhoun; his parents; sister, Beverly Wagner; brothers-in-law, Lynn Wagner, Mike Woudstra; sister-in-law, Diane Calhoun; son-in-law, Daniel Westra; great grandson, Dominic Hoogerhyde. The family will receive friends Monday 11:00 am until time of service at 12:00 pm at the Bliss-Witters & Pike Funeral Home, Cedar Springs. Private burial at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Memorials to Interim Hospice 1971 E. Beltline Ave. NE Ste 216 Grand Rapids, MI 49525.

We extend our deepest condolences and prayers to Bill´s family. He had a great love for his children by the stories he would tell. Bill was our cousin and we have many beautiful memories of the great trips we took to Hawaii, yummy restaurants, bowling, Oshtemo Rolatorium and many other great events. We will miss you greatly, that beautiful smile and your great sense of humor. We had so many enjoyable times together. Much Love and thanks for the memories.

RIP Bill... A beautiful garden now stands alone,
missing the one who nurtured it
But now he is gone,
His flowers still bloom, and the sun it still shines,
But the rain is like tear drops, for the ones left behind,
The weeds lay waiting to take the gardens beauty away,
But the beautiful memories of its keeper are in our hearts to stay,
He loved every flower even some that were weeds,
So much love he would plant with each little seed,
But just like his flowers he was part of Gods plan,
So when it was his time he reached down his hand,
He look through the Garden searching for the best,
That's when he found Bill, it was his time to rest,
It was hard for those who loved him, to just let him go,
But God had a spot in his garden, that needed a gentle soul,
So when you start missing Bill, remember if you just wait,
When God has a spot in his garden, he'll meet you at the gate....

Bill was always a great Father n law! We had many great times together as a family! Always kind and patient with the kids! I helped clean and paint in his Apartments they owned until My Oldest Jason started to help by painting the clock etc. Bill only laughed! He told Me one day that we are what we eat! And I said well I´m a French fry then!! That made him laugh!! He was a hard working Man! Who loved his family very much!! Rest In Peace Bill you will be greatly Missed!
