William "Bill" E. Capasso (65) of Watertown, formerly of Arlington, was born on January 23rd, 1959 in Cambridge, MA. He passed away peacefully on December 7th, 2024 with his dog Jack by his side.
Bill retired from the United States Army after completing a distinguished career. Bill completed Ranger training and served with the US Army 75th Ranger Regiment. He then completed Army Special Forces, and Green Beret training and served with the 10th Special Forces Group. He received formal training at Ft. Bragg, NC in all Special Forces Military Occupation Skills including light and heavy weapons, demolitions, communications, medical and intelligence operations. He completed training as a military free fall parachutist and HALO Jump Master. He was trained as a Special Forces Combat Diver and Diving Medical Technician in Key West Florida. After his active duty years, he transferred to the Rhode Island Army National Guard and served with the 19th Special Forces Group. Among many awards, he received the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal for deployment to Kuwait during Operation Desert Spring. Shortly after deployment he was accepted into the US Army Physician Assistant Program, receiving a Bachelor of Science from the University of Texas. He served in this capacity for several years before retiring as a First Lieutenant for the United States Army.
Up until his death, Bill was a Physician's Assistant in vascular surgery at St. Elizabeth's hospital in Brighton, MA.
Bill was the loving father of Leotie and Chenoa Capasso, and Sanuye Capasso Ramos of Malden, MA. Bill was Grampy to his two grandsons, Ignacio and Santiago Ramos. Bill will be missed by his loving family Rita Tramontozzi, Giulia and Stefano Salvucci, his siblings Paul Capasso, Elena Capasso Ver Planck and Victoria Capasso Brown and the mother of his girls, Nancy Bradley. Bill touched many lives and leaves behind many friends.
Visiting hours will be held at the Keefe Funeral Home, 5 Chestnut St., Arlington, Thursday, December 12th from 11 AM to 1 PM. Followed by a funeral service at 1 PM. Interment will be private.

I was Bil's Platoon Leader in Bravo Company 1st Ranger Battalion at Ft. Stewart and Hunter Army Air Field. He was one of my RTO's, a quick learner, I sent him to Ranger school as a E-3 and he smoked it. RL
