William Daniel Carter, Sr., 77, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, January 26, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.

Mr. Carter was a native of Jacksonville and worked for many years as a Supervisor at Packaging Corporation of America and retired in 2002. He loved the Lord and reading his Bible, he was an avid Georgia Bulldog Football Fan and enjoyed fishing, gardening and being outdoors. He also loved spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Mr. Carter was preceded in death by his parents: Woodrow Wilson Carter and Blanche Lee Carter; Daughter in Law: Stephanie Carter; sister: Wanell Myers; great-grandchildren: Conrad Ray and Lyvia Wicker; and nephews: Richard "Dicky" Myers, Troy Waters and Michael Mosley. He is survived by his wife of 59 years: Pansy Christine Carter; 4 children: Denise Wicker (Cary), Danna Harrison (Steve), Danny Carter (Sarah) and Jeff Carter (Kathy); 3 sisters: Harriett Chancey, Shirley Egan and Mary Mosley; 11 grandchildren: Danielle Zucker (Matt), Cary Wicker, IV (Sam), Macie Ray, Ryan Ray (Hanna), Carter Ray, Amber Carter, Amanda Carter, Hannah Lewis, Lucinda Wolaver (Tucker), Dusty Price (Kellie) and Bryce Carter (Morgan); 9 great-grandchildren: Layton Wicker, Ruby Wicker, Hollis Ray, Gordy Ray, Braelynn Ray, Tristan Price, Victoria Price, Karalyn Price and Genesis Corley and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, January 30, 2026, at The Anchor Church of God, 541798 US-1, Callahan, FL, with Pastor Dwight Allen and Pastor Jeff Carter officiating.

Burial will follow in Jones Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the church, prior to the service.

Peeples Family Funeral Home will be serving the Carter Family.
