Irene White Obituary
Mrs. White was born in Hapeville, Georgia and has lived in the Jacksonville area most of her life. She was a graduate of Robert E. Lee High School and a longtime member of Franklin Street Baptist Church. Mrs. White loved singing, spending time with her family and catching up with everyone on Facebook.
She was preceded in death by her parents: George Gordon McKenny and Mary Irene McKenny; husband: Frank Aubrey White; sister: Sandra Wilson and 2 brothers: Gordon and Bill McKenny. Survivors include her 2 children: Kevin White (Linda) and Karen White (John Stribling); 4 grandchildren: Kristi St. John (Robbie), Brian White, Brad Leonard and Melissa Pennington (Jonathan); 5 great grandchildren: Kyle White, Olivia St. John, Julian St. John, Valerie Pennington and Alex Pennington and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, February 5, 2026 at Franklin Street Baptist Church, 2521 Franklin Street, with Dr. Terry L. Gore officiating.
Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery.
Her family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Wednesday, February 4, 2025 at Peeples Family Funeral Homes, 14165 N. Main Street (Building C).
