William "Bill" L. Cartwright, 72, of Cumberland, MD, passed away September 27, 2025 at UPMC Western Maryland.

He was born June 9, 1953, in Cumberland, to Joyce Cartwright and the late Willard Cartwright. In addition to his father he was preceded in death by his wife, Rose Cartwright; and fur babies, Jada and Sunny.

Bill graduated from Oldtown School and then served his country with the U.S. Army beginning in Germany and finishing at Fort Richardson, Alaska. He then had a career as a truck driver for several companies and retired in 2018.

Following, he spent his days with his four-legged retirement buddy, Karma. Bill enjoyed his time outdoors and working on cars.

Surviving are his daughters, Alicia Cartwright, Autumn Brothers, and Diana Smith; grandchildren, Winter Brothers, Landyn Brothers, Kaitlyn Miller, and Trevor Smith; numerous siblings; and his extended family including many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Wednesday, October 1st from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 15205 McMullen Hwy SW, Cresaptown. A funeral service will immediately follow beginning at 12:00 p.m. with Amanda Aguallo officiating. Interment will follow in MD State Veterans Cemetery, Rocky Gap, where military honors will be accorded by Ft. Cumberland Post 13 Honor Guard.
