Barth Frankenberry Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A. - Cresaptown on Feb. 3, 2026.
Barth Howard Frankenberry Sr. was born on May 13, 1956, in Brooklyn, NY, to Howard and Shirley Frankenberry who were eagerly awaiting his arrival in heaven.

As a young boy, Barth's journey took him to the First Wesleyan Church alongside his brothers, Steve (Donna), Daniel (Tammy), and David. This early exposure to faith set the tone for Barth's lifelong spiritual path.

After graduating from Allegany High School in 1973, Barth pursued his passion for the automotive industry by founding Home Auto. He traveled to customers' homes, working on their vehicles from a van. In 1977, this endeavor grew into what is now known as Barth's Home Auto Sales & Service where Barth was known for customized vans and quality vehicles. In 2020, this business was transitioned to an entire specialty lot of Volkswagen Beetles. Barth's enthusiasm for building race car engines, sports cars, and Corvettes was evident throughout his career.

Barth's journey blessed him with his wife, Donna Kay, and their children: Barth Jr. (Shannon), Destinee (Hank), and three children who preceded him in death-Carrie Ashley, Amanda, and Benjamin. He was also given the gift of another son, Hank Hager, a cherished friend and right-hand man. Barth's grandsons, Barth III, Bryson, and Samuel, brought immense pride and joy, earning him the beloved title of "Pap." His love extended to his furry family member, Jetta, for whom his final spoken prayer was dedicated, wishing for Jetta's health and well-being.

Barth's devotion to faith continued as he attended Bethel Holiness Church and contributed to planting many churches in the mission field, working alongside the late Pastor George Loar, who played a pivotal role in mentoring Barth into pastoral leadership. Barth later founded Friends In Jesus Gospel Center and subsequently opened Friends In Jesus Evangelistic Church in Cresaptown, MD. It was here that he was inspired to erect the 3 Crosses On The Hill, supported by many local citizens and business associates, all guided by God's grace.

Despite facing years of complicated health challenges, Barth's faith remained steadfast. It is believed that the scripture "Well Done My Good & Faithful Servant" truly reflected his humble and soul-winning nature. On January 31, 2026, Barth departed this world in the blink of an eye, entering his new home in heaven.

Those who knew Barth are deeply grateful for the time shared with him as a husband, father, grandfather, pastor, and friend. His legacy endures in the hearts of his loved ones, with the heartfelt sentiment: "Home Is Where Your Heart Is." Barth is now at home in heaven, and his memories continue to reside in the hearts of those who cherished him.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Hi, I´m not sure if any of you remember me, but I´m Laura Lee - daughter of the late Jimmy Lee, and I just heard the news about Barth. He was the first person I called when we found my dad deceased and he sat on the phone and prayed with me, and I´ve never forgotten that. Now, I will pray for your family. Sending you all my love and prayers. - Lee Family
