William J. Casavant

William James Casavant, age 72, of Salem passed away at home on September 23, 2025. He was born in Norwich CT to the late Emery Francis Casavant and Harriet Helen (McNeil) Casavant.
He graduated from NFA in 1971 and attended 2 1/2 years at Eastern CT State College before working at UPS and joining Teamsters Union Local 493.
On June 22, 1974 he married the love of his life Debra Ann Bernier and they spent 51 years together.
William drove school buses, and worked for UPS, Airborne Express, Foxwoods, Mohegan Sun, and retired from the Mohegan Tribe in 2018.
William always brought joy, smiles, and laughter. He adored his grandchildren. He loved antique cars and spending time with the Yankee Yesteryear Car Club.
He will be remembered as a kind and generous man who loved the people who knew and loved him in return.
He is survived by his wife Debra, brother Donald (Lynn) Casavant, daughter Alicia ( Richard) Hansen, grandchildren CJ and Eliza Hansen, daughter Kristina Casavant, grandchildren Keith (Robert Comerford) Danielson, and Morgan Fenner, and many treasured nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his granddaughter Desirree Fenner.
Funeral to be held Monday September 29, 2025 at 10 am at St John Mission Church in Bozrah, with a graveside service following at the Bozrah Rural Cemetery.
