William Lacy Caviness

William Caviness, age 91, passed away peacefully in his sleep on October 15, 2022. He retired honorably from the United States Air Force on October 1, 1972 from Eglin Air Force Base and made Niceville, Florida his home. William worked for Chapman Landscaping and enjoyed working with his hands in the soil and making the landscapes beautiful. He also worked for the Okaloosa County Transit, transporting the elderly and handicapped to and from doctor appointments. William is mostly known in his community for his work with Independent Life as an insurance agent. He joined Beulah First Baptist Church in 1972 and was a faithful member for fifty years.
He leaves behind his daughters, Denise O'Gara (husband, Terry) and Linda Taylor (husband, Ralph); four grandchildren, Renee Jackson, Angela Henson, Matthew O'Gara and Erin O'Gara; and three great grandchildren, Monique Carter, Andre Carter, Jr. and Montese Henson, Jr. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on October 29, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at Beulah First Baptist Church, 109 Mc Griff St. NE, Fort Walton Beach, Florida, 32549. A private interment will take place at Barrancas National Cemetery at a later date.
