William Randall (Randy) Clark, 72, passed away Thursday, December 7th, 2023 at Piedmont Columbus Regional, Northside Campus.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday, December 12, 2023 in the Chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory with Pastor John Weldon officiating. The family will receive friends One hour prior to the service at the funeral home, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
Randy was born May 24, 1951 in Langdale, AL to the late William Thomas Clark and Pauline Lipham Clark. After high school, he joined the United States Army where he honorably served for over ten years. Randy's Military service took him to Vietnam, among other duty stations. His military awards and decorations include the National Defense Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, and the Vietnam Campaign Medal.
Shortly after entering the U.S. Army, Randy married the love of his life, Glenda. Together they raised two daughters, Amy and Kristy eventually settling in Columbus GA. Randy retired as a store manager in 2004. He remained active after retirement; he enjoyed the outdoors, and was a member of the V.F.W. and the American Legion. His family remembers him for playing bingo every chance he had. He enjoyed watching Alabama football, and was a diehard Atlanta Braves fan. He loved his family and being around them as often as possible.
In addition to his parents, Randy is preceded in death by his sister, Patsy Clanton.
He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Glenda Clark, daughters, Amy (John) Weldon, Kristy (Brandon) Lummus,grandchildren, Kacie Hurtt, Rebekah Weldon, Allison Weldon, Christopher Lummus, Zachary Weldon, Jackson Lummus, Marissa Lummus,Tristan Lummus, great grandchild, Mason Hurtt; Brother in law, Larry Clanton, sister in law, Patsy Marcott, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins, best friends, Vickie and Mack McMurphy.
