William Clugsten Obituary

Publish in a newspaper

Early in the afternoon of Sunday, August 3, 2025, William D. Clugsten, Jr. passed into the arms of our Lord with his loving wife Nikki by his side.

Bill was born on August 5, 1958 to Bill and Pat Clugsten and grew up with his brothers and sister in Rootstown, Ohio.

Winning the God and Country award from the Boy Scouts was an accomplishment for which Bill was always so proud. He graduated from Rootstown High School in 1976, and went on to graduate from Akron University Community and Technical College with honors.

Bill began an extremely successful career with Radio Shack in Northeast Ohio, successfully managing the store in Ravenna prior to his promotion to District Manager. With diligent, dedicated work, and true loyalty to the company, Bill became a highly regarded member of the Radio Shack team. Bill was part of a truly unique group that worked hard yet never forgot how to have fun. During the 1980s, Bill managed several districts in Columbus, Ohio; Louisville, KY; Youngstown, Ohio; and finally in Pittsburgh, PA. He was promoted to Albany Regional Manager in the early 1990s. Ultimately, he moved to Headquarters in Fort Worth, Texas as a real estate manager. He earned many well and truly deserved promotions in the Real Estate Department over the course of 15 years and retired as the Senior Director of Lease Operations. He and his wife Nikki have lived in Fort Worth for the past thirty years.

He met Nikki Macris, the love of his life, in 1986 and they were married on Valentine's Day in 1988. Bill dedicated his life to his work and to his faithful support and devotion to his wife, Nikki.

Faith and religion have always played an important role in Bill and Nikki's lives. Bill was a longtime member of the First United Methodist Church of Watauga and served as staff parish relations committee chair for many years. He also devoted ten years to serve on the church's finance committee.

Bill liked to travel and thoroughly delighted in the many cruises he and Nikki took to various locations around the Caribbean and to Alaska and Hawaii. Bill and Nikki also made several trips to Branson, Missouri where they enjoyed countless shows by their favorite entertainers.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents. Left to cherish and honor his memory are his wife Nikki, his brothers Ron (Marcia) and Tim (Peg), his sister Deborah, sisters-in-law Pam (Tony) Limperos and Nina (Tony) Grech, many nephews and nieces, great nephews and nieces, as well as great grand nephews and nieces.

Because Bill lived large portions of his life in Ohio and in Texas, there will two opportunities to pay respects. In Texas, there will be a Celebration of Life service at the First United Methodist Church of Watauga at 6112 Watauga Road in Watauga, Texas on Saturday, August 16, 2025 at 11am, followed by a luncheon provided by the church family.

In Ohio, there will be calling hours from 11am to 12pm on Saturday, August 23, 2025 at the Peter Rossi & Son Memorial Chapel at 1884 North Road, NE, Warren, Ohio. A grave site funeral will take place at the Howland Township Cemetery at 12:30pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Diabetes Association (www.diabetes.org) or to the First United Methodist Church of Watauga, Texas (www.fumcow.com/give).
