William Collins Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Jones Funeral Home - Jacksonville on Feb. 20, 2026.
William Hadley Collins, 88, of Maysville, passed away Wednesday, February 18, 2026, at ECU Health Medical Center in Greenville.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 21, 2026, at First Baptist Church in Maysville with Rev. Colt Allen officiating. Burial will follow in the Collins Cemetery on Belgrade-Swansboro Road. The family will receive friends Saturday morning prior to the service, beginning at 10:00 a.m. at the church.

Mr. Collins worked his entire life at Weyerhaeuser. A man of strong faith, he loved the Lord and lived his life devoted to God and his family. His greatest joys were found outdoors, especially hunting and fishing - his true happy place. He treasured sharing those moments with the ones he loved, whether sitting quietly in the woods or catching a fish and frying it up together afterward. A devoted husband of 70 years, he took great pride in caring for his beloved wife, Jenny. He deeply cherished his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and the many precious memories they created together. Known for his constant smile and his love of being outdoors, he was a steady presence, a source of strength, and an inspiration to his entire family. His legacy of faith, hard work, and quiet strength will live on through the generations who were blessed to call him theirs.

He is survived by his loving wife, Jennifer Collins; two sons, Michael Collins and his wife Janice, and John Paul Collins and his wife Kim; four grandchildren, John Michael Collins and his wife Jane, Kristina Ramsey, Jeremy Collins and his wife Jaime, and Megan Collins; and five great-grandchildren: Bella, Joseph, Jacob, Kade, and Julianna.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Woodrow and Pauline Collins; his sisters, Theresa Waters and Adell Provost; and his great grandchild, Brooklyn Collins.
