William Roger Coultrip, a beloved husband, father, and grandfather, peacefully passed
away in his sleep on March 26, 2024. He was surrounded by the love of his family as he
embarked on his final journey.
Born and raised in Morgan Park, IL, William, known to many as Bill, led a life filled with
love, purpose, and devotion. Between 1954 and 1956, he bravely served his country in
the Army, demonstrating his unwavering commitment to duty and honor.
Following his military service, Bill embarked on a successful career with General Motors
Acceptance Corporation (GMAC), and dedicated many years of service before retiring.
His strong work ethic and integrity earned him the respect and admiration of colleagues
and friends alike.
Outside of his professional life, Bill found immense joy in nurturing the world around
him. An avid gardener, he possessed a green thumb and took great pride in cultivating
his garden. He had a particular passion for planting trees and transforming his property
into a vibrant and lush oasis.
Above all, Bill cherished his role as a husband, father, and grandfather. He shared a
deep and enduring love with his wife, Lee Coultrip, whom he met while working at
GMAC. Bill was also a devoted father to his children, Cathy (Peter) Brand and Mike
(Linnea) Coultrip, and he enjoyed the love of his four grandchildren: Chris and Stefan
Brand, and Ryan and Will Coultrip.
Bill will be remembered fondly for his kindness and generosity. His legacy of hard work,
compassion, and devotion will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing
him.
A memorial service to celebrate Bill's life will be held on July 27, more details to follow.
Bill may have left this world, but his spirit will live on in the hearts of those who knew
and loved him. May he rest in eternal peace.
