William Joseph Cox, 46, of Collinsville, TX, passed away October 30, 2023 in Collinsville.
Mr. Cox grew up in Collinsville and graduated Collinsville High School. He worked in the oil fields for several years and was also a welder and machine shop worker. Mr. Cox's hobbies were hunting and fishing. He loved the outdoors. Mr. Cox also enjoyed spending time with family and friends, playing cards, and listening to music, particularly old-school country music.
Mr. Cox was preceded in death by his father, James M. Cox.
Survivors include: mother, Geraldine (Robinson) Cox; Michael Cox & family of California; Johnathan Cox of Collinsville; and Jason Cox & family of Iowa.
Recognized as pallbearers are: Steve Robinson, Billy Robinson, Max Myers, Ricky Jones, Tim Downey, Clint Davison, Raymond Bridges, and William Robinson.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 14, 2023, at Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home, Gainesville. A funeral service is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 15, at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Collinsville. Interment will follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery.
