William Preston "Billy" Cox

William "Billy" Preston Cox, age 69, passed away on November 8, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Born and raised in Nashville, he was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, & uncle whose kindness, quiet strength, and unwavering love touched everyone who knew him.

He is preceded in death by his parents, William John and Serena Thomas Parry, along with his brother, Scott (Kathy) Parry.

Billy is survived by his wife, Jennifer Peyton Cox; and his daughters, Peyton (Nick) Sherrod, along with their daughter, Preston; and Devon (Dalton) Ryan, along with their daughters, Dawson & Declyn. He is also survived by his siblings, Megan (Mike) Hines, Joyce Elaine (Royce) Dugan, Leigh Ann Parry Barrett, Alan Cox, Gary (Denise) Staggs, & Kay (Scotty) Duncan. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and loving friends who will forever cherish his memory.

Billy proudly retired after more than 40 years, working in the electrical trade; a true craftsman who could fix, build, or mend just about anything. Whether he was lending a helping hand, working in his garden or creating beautiful woodworking pieces in his barn, Billy's hands were never still, and his heart was always generous.

More than his work and hobbies, Billy was a proud and loving grandfather who adored his grandkids and found his greatest joy in their laughter and love. He taught by example, showing the value of hard work and putting family first. His warmth and steady presence will be deeply missed, but the light he brought to others will never fade.

A celebration of Billy's life will be held on Saturday, November 15, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. -2:00 p.m. at Woodbine Funeral Home, Hickory Chapel.

He will be missed dearly, remembered fondly, and loved always.
