William Martin Croake

William Martin Croake, age 79, died April 28, 2023, under Hospice care, in Del Rey Beach Florida.
William is predeceased by his parents Victor and Helen Croake; siblings Jim, Vic, and Tim Croake. William is survived by his daughter Kimberly (Croake) Borders of Gainesville, Virginia; his sister Patricia Croake of Austin, Texas, his brother Mike Croake of Madison, Wisconsin; his ex-spouse Carole Croake, his granddaughters, Brittany Borders, Brianna Borders, Brooklynn Borders and Brielle Borders of Gainesville, Virginia; and his son in law Mark Borders.
Billy had the personality and natural charisma to make friends no matter the situation. His laugh, jokes and sarcasm were infectious to everyone around him. A man of many stories, some factual, others not so factual, all regardless would draw out some inspiring or lessons learned conclusions. Far from perfect, when he did wrong, he would try to do right. He loved his horse racing, cigarettes, and vodka on the rocks. A man with a simple taste of polyester pants or jeans and polo shirts, he always made sure "Daddyjack" was dressed for the occasion and ready to celebrate whatever the activity may be. For those that knew Billy, know he lived his life his way. As a final request of Billy and surviving family, please don't cry but "Get on with it". Family requests that you toast a cheer to Billy in lieu of tears! Celebrate his life, memories, and stories with each other. It is not the years in your life that count..It is the life in your years.
William, aka "Billy", wishes to spend eternity among the seas, so his ashes will be spread off the coast of South Florida at a later date.
