William Crowley

William Kenneth "Mickie" Crowley, age 83, of Knoxville, TN, passed away on January 9, 2026. Born on November 9, 1942, in Knoxville to the late Kenneth and Rosalie (Batt) Crowley of Alcoa, Mickie was a lifelong Tennessean and a proud graduate of the University of Tennessee.
Mickie dedicated his professional career at the Engineering Division of Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL), where he became a respected authority in nuclear safety procedures. He traveled extensively across the country, sharing his expertise and ensuring the highest standards of safety at research facilities nationwide.
Beyond his professional achievements, Mickie's heart was in his faith and music. He and his wife, Jane, were longtime, joyful voices in the choir at Cokesbury United Methodist Church. Together, they shared the gift of music during worship, at beloved choir retreats in Townsend, and during the grand opening of Cornerstone UMC in Smyrna. At Cokesbury, Mickie's listening ear and wise counsel made him a natural leader and a devoted teacher of the Seekers Sunday School Class for many years. Mickie and Jane later shared their love of song as members of the choir at First Farragut United Methodist Church.
Mickie is survived by his wife, Jane Hembree Crowley; daughter, Christina Crowley; and step-son, Chip Reeves (Sandra). He is also survived by his grandchildren, Kathleen Griffin, Brianna, and Faith Davis, and Emily, Allie, and Anndi Reeves; one great-grandson; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, January 14, 2026 at 3:00 PM at Grandview Cemetery, 2304 Tuckaleechee Pike, Maryville, TN, with the Rev. Dr. Debra Church officiating.
