It is with heavy hearts, we announce the passing of William "Flint" Cruce.
Flint went to be with our Lord and Savior on Saturday, April 5, 2025. Flint was born in Apalachicola, FL, where he lived for a short while before moving home to Parker, FL. He was 64 years old.
Flint was a devoted, loving husband to his wife, Debra "Debbie" Ann Jackson Cruce, and they spent 43 wonderful years together. Flint was Debbie's pillar of strength and faith. Flint and Debbie had one daughter, Elizabeth Hope Leach. He loved Elizabeth to the moon and back and would always call her his "Baby Doll". Flint was so proud of Elizabeth's husband, David Lee Leach, and the way he lead his family daily to serve the Lord. Flint left behind his two precious grandsons, David Eli Leach and William David Leach. He treasured every minute spent with them. They would put an unforgettable smile on his face and sparkle in his eyes. Flint had to see his boys every day and if he didn't get to, Elizabeth and David would hear about it!
Flint was preceded in death by his father, William Harvey Cruce and his mother, Merle Proctor Cruce. His grandparents on his father's side, Ambrose Drew (A.D.) and Margie Cruce and on his mother's side, Clarence and Minnie Lee Proctor.
Flint had a degree in welding and as a young man worked at Sherman Shipyard. Later, he was involved with grocery stores and worked up to management positions at Sunshine Food Store and Food world. The grocery business is where he got involved with people and community. Everyone who worked with him will remember how hardworking he was and how he would give it his all.
Flint loved the out doors, especially freshwater fishing. He knew every creek, lake and fishing hole around. Flint would take anyone fishing but was always careful that no one would find out his "secret fishing holes."
Flint also loved Sports and it didn't matter what kind. As a youngster, he played on many baseball, football and basketball leagues.
His favorite team was FSU and he followed every move they made. Flint would talk to you for hours about fishing and sports.
Flint never met a stranger and was passionate about giving and volunteering.
He had a kind, gentle heart and would give you the shirt off of his back if you needed it. His neighbors will miss him dearly because they could always count on him if they needed help.
Flint was raised in the Baptist faith and was always involved with his Church. He adored teaching the first graders about Jesus with Debbie. But that would not be the only place you would find Flint. Flint was also the BBQ man in charge of cooking the hotdogs and hamburgers outside on the grill.
Flint will be remembered as a man that loved life and its simple pleasures. Spending time with family and friends, going to the movies, going out to eat were all the things that he treasured.
I love you baby with all of my heart and I will see you again in Heaven, your forever wife, Debbie.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 12,2025 at Saint Andrew Baptist Church, 3010 Highway 98, Panama City, Florida at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Cory Pitts officiating.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday at Parker Cemetery, Business Highway 98 and West Street in Parker, Florida
