James (Jim) Stanton Ruddick, Sr., age 85, passed away peacefully on November 19, 2025. Born on July 13, 1940, Jim grew up in Bogalusa, Louisiana, and was preceded in death by his parents, Durward and Verma (Amacker) Ruddick, and his sister, Carol Spillmon.

A proud graduate of Bogalusa High School, Jim went on to earn his bachelor's degree from Southeastern Louisiana University. He later made his home in Panama City, Florida, where he lived for 52 years. During that time, he served as Human Resource Director for Smurfit-Stone Paper Company, a role in which he was deeply respected for his professionalism, fairness, and genuine care for others.

Jim is survived by his three children: James "Stan" Ruddick, Jr. and his wife Mandy of Panama City, FL; Kevin Ruddick of Marianna, FL; and Susan Blanton and her husband Travis of Marianna, FL. He is also survived by his brother, Buddy Ruddick, formerly of Baton Rouge, LA, and his sister, Cheri Rose of Waldron, Arkansas. James was a loving grandfather to his five grandchildren-Ruston Ruddick, Reed Ruddick, Ryne Ruddick, Chelsea Blanton, and Shayne Blanton-and a proud great-grandfather to three great-grandchildren.

The family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to Grandview Assisted Living for the compassionate care, support, and friendship Jim received during the final months of his life.

Per his wishes, Jim was laid to rest in a private graveside service at Evergreen Cemetery in Panama City, Florida, on Wednesday, November 26, 2025 by Ken-Forest Lawn Funeral Home.

Jim was a lifelong and enthusiastic LSU football fan, and many of his happiest moments were spent cheering on the Tigers alongside his family. He will be remembered for his warmth, devotion to his loved ones, and the steadfast spirit he carried throughout his life.

Jim's legacy of love and kindness will be cherished always by those who knew and loved him.
