WILLIAM DAEHLER Obituary

William Robert "Bill" Daehler was born in Chicago, IL on December 1, 1964. Although he was taken far too soon, he lived a rich life and made the most of the time he had with us. He coached more than 200 baseball, softball, basketball, and soccer teams for his seven children over 25 years. He loved traveling and visited five continents. He was a tremendously talented athlete and a devoted Cubs and Blackhawks fan. His practical demeanor, sense of humor, and passion for life will be sorely missed. Bill is survived by his children aged 16-34, Bill, Kelley, Thomas, Maggie, Betsy, Noelle and Aubrey; children-in-law, Anthony Gonzales, Danny Jimenez, Emily Daehler, and Laura Alcocer; grandchildren, Scarlett Gonzales, Paige Daehler, and expected granddaughter, baby Daehler-Jimenez; wife, Anne; mother, Barbara Daehler; siblings, Robert, Barbra, Jim, and Julie. He is preceded in death by his father, Robert William Daehler; and his beloved grandparents, Harold and Lorraine Daehler. A visitation will be held 2 pm-6 pm on Sunday, January 8, at Davenport Family Funeral Home, 941 S. Old Rand Road, Lake Zurich, IL. A second visitation will be held at 10 am on Monday, January 9, at St. Anne's Catholic Church, 120 S. Ela Rd., Barrington, IL. A mass will follow at 11 am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to I Am ALS (https://iamals.org/give/). For information, please contact Davenport Family Funeral Home, 847-381-3411. I have many fond memories of Harold and Loraine and visits to a home on Sacramento Avenue in Chicago. I recently returned to Chicago for a funeral of one of my family members and my brother and I were recalling the many time our parents had gotten together with the Sanzenbachers, Wards and Daehlers to celebrate. I am sorry for the loss of Bill to his family and friend and will remember him in my prayers.

Bill was a great Dad, great Husband and a great Coach!! Always a smile and a positive comment when I would see him. One of the nicest people I have ever met. We are so sorry for your loss and will have him and his family in our prayers.

I´m so sorry for your loss. Bill was definitely one of the good guys and I very much enjoyed the time we spent together when the girls were playing softball. He will be very missed!
