Ellenton, Florida – William J. Delaney, 66, formerly of Pawtucket, passed away unexpectedly at home in Florida on Tuesday, March 7, 2023. Born in Pawtucket, he was a son of the late Donald M. and Elaine P. (McCaughey) Delaney.
William, formerly a long-time waiter at Twin Oaks Restaurant in Cranston, RI, found his calling as a culinary arts instructor at the Manatee Technical College in Florida before retiring in 2020. He enjoyed his recent position as a Valet at Sarasota Hospital.
William enjoyed the game of golf and in his younger days was an outstanding bowler. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Billy will always be remembered as a loving Son and Brother as well a loyal of friend to many, maintaining several close, lifelong friendships.
William leaves four siblings, Patricia King and her husband, Terry, from Birmingham, Iowa, Joanne Barcelou and her husband, Kenneth, of Rumford, RI, Stephen Delaney and his wife, Maureen, of Pawtucket, RI, and Philip Delaney and his wife, Donna, of East Putnam, CT, in addition to many beloved nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Donald E. Delaney.
Relatives and friends are welcome to attend VISITATION on Saturday, March 25th from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at WILLIAM W. TRIPP Funeral Home, 1008 Newport Ave., Pawtucket, followed by a Service at 1 p.m. in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts to HopeHealth Hospice, 1085 North Main St., Providence, RI 02904 would be appreciated.

I´m Paul Folkman and grew up across the street from all the Delaneys we had a great childhood together enjoying playing street ball and fishing at willet pond
I´m very sad for your loss Despite losing touch over the years I have fond memories of our times
