SHELBY: William “Harvey” Dotson, 82, died Wednesday, January 22, 2025. A native of Cleveland County, he was the son of the late Ralph and Pearl Greene Dotson.

Harvey enjoyed riding dirt bikes, watching NASCAR and western T.V. shows, pitching horseshoes and participated in different bowling leagues over the years. He worked as a meat cutter, a pipe fitter and a service manager for Oakwood Homes.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Tex Dotson; and sister, Anita Cantrell. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Betty Walker Dotson of the home; son, Dale Dotson and wife Stephanie of Mooresboro; daughters, Loraine Edwards and Denise Weber, both of Shelby; grandchildren, Justin Scism, Jesse Scism, Ryan Edwards and Jenny, Brittany Edwards and Rich, Bailey Voges and Nick, Sydney O’Neill and Brenden, Sage Dotson and Gabby, Leul Dotson and Allie Cook; great-grandchildren, Andrew Scism, Henry O’Neill and Gwendolyn Edwards.

The family will welcome friends starting at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, February 8, 2025, at the family home located at 5503 Peeler Street, Shelby.
