William "Tommy" Thomas Dover, 66, of Blacksburg, SC, passed away peacefully Monday, January 5, 2025, surrounded by family and friends. He was married to Amy Boyd and son of the late William Edward Dover, Jr and Linda Virginia Upchurch.
He was a friend to many, a member of First Baptist Church - Blacksburg, a graduate of Blacksburg High School, Class of 1977, a member of the 1976 Blacksburg High School State Championship Football Team and loved his family dearly. He was a golfer, avid bodybuilder, placed 3rd at the 1986 Mr. South Carolina Bodybuilding Championship, huge fan of the Blacksburg Wildcats, University of South Carolina Gamecocks, and the Dallas Cowboys.
Left to cherish his memory, in addition to his wife Amy, are children Brittany Lauren Dover and Thomas Franklin "Frankie" Mode, II of Blacksburg, his granddaughter Emma Grace Dover - Demkowski, of High Point, NC, nieces Anna Boyd and Savannah Boyd of Spartanburg, SC, many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, many aunts and uncles.
A special Thank You to his special friends Wanda Ford, Eunice Scruggs, Lucy Davidson, Ronnie "BirdDog" Patterson, Jerry "Rooster" Patterson, Maggie Jo Scruggs, and the "Littles" Shamari Ford and Mari Ford.
A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held Friday, January 9, 2026, at First Baptist Church-Blacksburg, from 1:00 - 2:00 pm, with a Celebration of Life Funeral Service to follow at 2:15 pm with Dr. Wayne Brown officiating.
Entombment will follow at Clingman Memorial Gardens, 1219 E. Cherokee St., Blacksburg, SC
Pallbearers serving are Phillip Martin, Matthew Martin, Frankie Mode, Clint Upchurch, Wayne Scruggs, Omar Ford, Hank Davidson, Mike Dover and Rory Dover.
Honorary Pallbearers serving are members of the 1976 Blacksburg High School State Football Championship Team.
