William A. "Bill" Earlywine
of West Grove, PA passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on February 24, 2025.
Bill was the beloved husband of Nancy Earlywine (nee Stocker) whom he just celebrated 60 years of marriage with on February 13th.
Bill was born December 1, 1932 in Russellville, OH to the late William Austin and Anna May (nee Crump) Earlywine.
Being born during the depression, his young life was difficult. Bill's mother passed from tuberculosis when he was young and his father passed not long after her. Bill along with 4 of his siblings were sent to an orphanage when he was 9 years old. Bill looked back fondly on his youth there. He was given a good education and learned farming and many other skills.
In 1951, Bill joined the United States Marine Corps. He served in Korea during the Korean Conflict. After being honorably discharged, Bill began working various jobs eventually bringing him to Pennsylvania. After working at Sun Ship, Bill joined The Boeing Company in Ridley Park. He worked in the painting department during his 36 years with the company becoming the Paint Supervisor before retiring in 2000. Bill had a very driven work ethic and his priority was providing for his family. He worked side jobs and started a few businesses of his own including house painting and engine repair. His family considered him the "Man of Steel" because life kept throwing obstacles and health battles but he remained the strongest man they knew.
Bill was an avid lifelong Cincinnati Bengals fan. He enjoyed watching all sports especially football and horseracing. He loved listening and singing to Country-Western and Bluegrass music. He enjoyed being outdoors and his early experience in farming carried through as he had quite the garden for many years. Bill was very handy and liked building things including his chicken coop, grape arbor and porches on his homes.
One thing Bill always had was a pool for his children and grandchildren. He loved to watch everyone learn to swim and could be heard yelling, "dive, dive!" as you approached the pool. The day wasn't complete without him asking "how's the water? Is it wet?".
In addition to his parents, Bill was predeceased by all 12 of his siblings.
Bill is survived by his loving wife, Nancy, daughters Debra Halsey of Oxford, PA, Dawn Mains (Paul) of West Grove, sons William Earlywine (Penny) of NC and Todd Earlywine (Maureen) of Parkesburg, PA. In addition, he is survived by 14 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren with another great-grandchild on the way.
Burial will be private.
A Celebration of Life will be held in the near future.
The Earlywine Family would like to extend their deepest appreciation to the Veteran's Administration of Coatesville and their nursing staff for years of home care as well as Holisticare Hospice, Willow Tree Hospice and Bayada Hospice for their support.
