William (Bill) Nelson Eaton passed peacefully on July 17, 2023, surrounded by loved ones. Bill was born in Baltimore Maryland on June 20th, 1960.
Bill's life was full of adventure. He was able to see many parts of the world as a 'military brat' before he decided to enlist himself. He proudly served in the Army from 1979 to 1986. His adventures led him to Washington State where he met the love of his life Barbara and her three children. Bill and Barbara were married in the summer of 2000. Bill loved her children Alicia, Donny, and Starla as his own; so much that he adopted the two youngest.
Bill is survived by his parents Harmon and Lorrie Eaton, brother Lonnie Perkins, sister Shannon Thrasher, wife Barbara Eaton (Babikoff), stepdaughter Alicia Marquez (Beckwith), Son Donny Eaton, daughter Starla Baxter (Eaton), and 2 grandchildren Ariel and Ayden.
Bill was a kind man in every aspect. He touched many lives throughout his 63 years. Friends became family and family meant everything to him. He never let an opportunity pass to give praise for accomplishments and words of encouragement. He was a guiding force in many lives, giving those who knew him the chance to become more than they imagined they could.
Bill had a love of classic cars and drag racing that he shared with everyone. He was filled with joy when that love overflowed into his grandchildren. Ayden loved going to the car shows while Ariel enjoyed spending hours in the garage with him just tinkering and working on cars. His gentle nature and willingness to share his knowledge with her turned her into 'papa's gearhead'.
His memorial service will be held at Willamette National Cemetery on August 18th from 1:15 PM to 1:45 PM.
Please join the family for a potluck Celebration of Life at 2005 Norris Rd, Vancouver, WA 98661 from 4PM to 7PM.
